Mr. Minoru Okamoto, Honorary Advisor, Tyco Electronics Japan G.K. (Former CEO)

After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in economics in 1972, he joined AMP Japan in 1995 and became president of AMP Japan in 1995. After AMP’s merger with Tyco Group in 1999, he served as CEO of Tyco Electronics (then) Japan and head of the worldwide computer and consumer electronics business at Tyco’s U.S. headquarters. In 2010, he was appointed Senior Advisor to CEO at the U.S. headquarters, where he also served as Chairman of the Board of Tyco Electronics Japan. Tyco Electronics changed its corporate brand name to TE Connectivity.
